• Picnicking & family playtime in the soft grassy areas
of the marina and overlook

• Hiking through 70+ wooded acres at the overlook

Friends of the Shikellamy State Park

The Friends of Shikellamy State Park was recently formed by a group of your neighbors & friends who cherish the park as a genuine community treasure.

Shikellamy Friends came together around the common ideas of:

Sponsoring outdoor activity and entertainment events at both the marina and Shikellamy overlook and;

Providing volunteer services to enhance and maintain the quality of the park.

Community events would bring family, friends, neighbors, and yes, even strangers, together to enjoy common experiences such as:

Great food, conversation & music during a public “Sunday Brunch in the Park”

• Sounds & stars at evening music concerts at the Shikellamy Overlook

• Hands on boating & fishing clinics

• Community art & performance festivals

Shikellamy Friends also provides volunteer services to supplement and assist park staff in planting native trees, bushes, & perennials and other help as needed.

OUR MISSION
Enhance public awareness, use & care of Shikellamy State Park as a genuine community treasure!
